Opportunities

The Big Conversation

Nottinghamshire County Council is developing a new plan for adult social care and wants to hear directly from people who use adult social care services in Nottinghamshire and their family/friend carers (unpaid carers).

They are working with Think Local Act Personal (TLAP) and the National Co-Production Advisory Group (NCAG) to run a series of Big Conversation listening events and a survey. These will be safe, welcoming spaces where you can share your thoughts, experiences, and hopes for the future.

This is an opportunity to influence change and help shape services so they work better for you and the people you care for.

How you can take part

1. Complete the survey (closing date: end of September)
  • Survey for people who draw on social care
  • Survey for family/friend carers (unpaid carers)

2. Attend a Big Conversation listening event near you
  • View dates and book your place

Need help to take part?
If you can’t attend an event, need the survey in a different format, or would like someone to visit your group, you can email [email protected].  The NCC team is happy to arrange a conversation in a setting that’s comfortable for you.

If this opportunity isn’t right for you

If your caring role is different — for example, you’re a parent carer of a child under 18, or you support someone without social care involvement — you’re still welcome to share your thoughts with us at Carers Space Notts, and we’ll make sure your feedback is heard through the right channels.
You can contact us at [email protected].

Technology Enabled Care

As part of NCC’s Adults Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Strategy 2024 – 2027, NCC are aiming to help people use their own digital devices (e.g. smartphones, tablets, smart speakers/screens) for social care needs, like making voice-activated calls or using mental health apps. This lets people use familiar devices instead of new systems from the Council.

Feedback is welcomed from anyone over 18 with social care needs or caring responsibilities who owns a smart device. Please complete this survey to share what devices you have and how you use them.
